Leading the pack for the third consecutive year was media mogul Michael Bloomberg, who allocated $4.3 billion towards initiatives spanning the arts, public health, and various other philanthropic endeavors.

However, the prominent list has seen some notable absences, including billionaire MacKenzie Scott, who recently disclosed gifting nearly $7.2 billion to approximately 225 organizations over the past twelve months, and a total exceeding $26 billion to nonprofits since 2020. Her exclusion, according to a senior editor at the Chronicle, stems from her representatives' decision not to disclose the exact amounts contributed to her donor-advised funds (DAFs).
